1. Scope of this notice
This notice applies to the Android and Windows versions of TapTranslate PDF (TapTranslate). The Android application identifier is com.jozora.taptranslatepdf. The developer and controller of support enquiries is Kőszegi-Szabó József (JOZORA), Budapest, Hungary. Privacy and support contact: jozora@voxaharmonia.hu.
2. Network data transfer
TapTranslate 1.0.0 requires no user account and contains no advertising or built-in analytics. The offline reader and dictionary do not transmit PDF documents, selected text, dictionary searches or usage statistics to the publisher or to an external translation service. This version has no online translation or proprietary cloud synchronisation.
Store downloads, purchases and purchase entitlement checks may use a network connection. Section 5 explains how these are handled; they are separate from offline document processing.
3. Data processed locally
A PDF selected by the user is opened and processed solely on the user's device. Its contents are not uploaded.
The application may store the following operational data locally:
- the local file path of the most recently opened PDF;
- the last viewed page number;
- the selected dictionary language pair and interface language;
- local settings and database files required for the application to work.
Selected text and dictionary lookups are processed on the device using the offline database. On Android, documents are selected through the system file picker. If a file is selected from cloud storage, that provider may handle its download under its own rules.
4. Purpose of processing
The local file path and page number are used only to continue reading after restarting the application. The TapTranslate publisher does not receive or have access to this data.
5. Google Play, Microsoft Store and purchase data
The publisher does not sell user data. On Android, in-app dictionary pack purchases are handled by Google Play billing. The application retrieves product data and price, purchase status and previous purchases so it can unlock or restore a purchased pack. The billing component may process a product identifier, purchase identifier or token, and transaction status, and confirms the purchase with Google Play. The application does not send this data to the publisher's own server.
Google processes information related to the Play account, payment, downloads and store services under the Google Privacy Policy. The application does not receive bank card numbers or Google account passwords.
On Windows, Microsoft Store may process information related to purchases, payments, downloads and store accounts under the Microsoft Privacy Statement. The application does not receive bank card details or account passwords there either.
6. Retention and deletion
Local settings remain in the application storage until they are deleted. On Android, clearing the app's storage in system settings removes them and resets local settings and reading state. On Windows, they can be removed by deleting application data or resetting the application. The original PDF can be deleted separately in the file manager. If a previously opened PDF can no longer be found, the application removes its saved reading state.
Depending on device settings, operating-system backup or device-transfer services may copy or restore application data. This can be managed in system or account backup settings. It does not provide documents to the publisher.
Deleting application data does not delete Google Play or Microsoft Store purchase records. A purchased Android pack can be restored with the appropriate Play account using the restore purchases function.
7. Support correspondence and privacy requests
If you write to jozora@voxaharmonia.hu, the publisher receives your email address, message and any information you attach. These are used to answer the request, troubleshoot and handle related matters. Sending a PDF is not required for general support; only send material you genuinely intend to share.
Support correspondence may be processed on the basis of legitimate interest in answering the request and resolving related matters; fulfilment of a contract or a legal obligation may also apply to purchase-related requests. Correspondence is retained only as long as needed to handle the request and related claims, or as required by law. The email provider participates in transmitting and storing the correspondence.
You may use the address above to request information, access, correction, deletion or restriction of processing and, where applicable, object or request data portability. The publisher cannot access data that exists only locally inside the application, so you can delete that data on your own device. You may also lodge a privacy complaint with the Hungarian National Authority for Data Protection and Freedom of Information.
8. Audience and security
The application is intended for students aged 13 and over, language learners, researchers and other readers; it is not specifically directed at children under 13. It contains no targeted advertising or profiling.
To protect locally processed documents, use a device screen lock, keep the system updated, and protect user accounts and backups. The application does not claim to provide a separate encrypted document vault. Purchase security and account settings are managed in the relevant store.
9. Changes to this notice
If a later version introduces online translation, cloud synchronisation, user accounts, analytics or another network service, this notice must be updated before that change is released.
